Brain Connections - Let's Talk About Brain Health & Brain Disease
The Dementia and Neurodegeneration Network Ireland (DNNI) in association with UCD’s School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science will be hosting a free public outreach event called ‘Let’s Talk About Brain Health and Brain Disease’. The event will take place on Mon 27th August (10.50am – 3.15pm; registration opens from 10.15am) in the O’Brien Centre for Science in UCD (Room H1.51).
The focus of the day will be how to keep your brain healthy through movement, good nutrition, social connections, managing stress and music with practical tips provided by speakers and an opportunity to ask questions. There will be a number of experts talking on the day, including people living with a brain condition who will speak about their experience. There will be an opportunity to hear about the research taking place in UCD exploring the topics of cause, cure and care for brain diseases such as Dementia/ Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
The event is suitable for the general public, those living with dementia/alzheimer's disease and parkinson's disease, carers, professionals & researchers working in the area of neurodegenerative disease and students.
Tea and coffee and a light lunch will be provided on the day.
